PhD Proposal in Cluster Head Selection in Wireless Sensor Networks

What is cluster head selection in wireless sensor network?

Wireless Sensor network is specialized for sensing the wireless sensor network devices with allocated energy and minimum storage. The wireless sensor network optimized with non rechargeable batteries that is one of the complicated aspect in energy consumption aspect. The sensor network clustering method is ideal solution for energy constrained wireless network. Load balancing is the only way thereby restricts the power consumption and enhancing the lifetime of the sensor nodes.

Types of Cluster Head selection in WSN using parameters:

  1. Residual Energy in Last Round
  2. LEACH Energy
  3. Remnant Energy
  4. Residual Energy and Optimum Percentage
  5. Threshold
  6. Location based CH
  7. Coverage Rate based CH
  8. Received Signal Strength based CH (RSSS)
The above process will you to get cluster head selection in wireless sensor networks

Cluster Head Selection in wireless sensor networks:

The increasing stage of population density in Metro cities needs the solid networking infrastructure to handle the requirements of the industry standard. Hence industry requirement in wireless network such as Internet of Things has been ideal solution for density areas.

The sensor nodes are formed four groups to form four clusters .Each cluster has different colors for identification and sink collects the data from the Cluster Heads and sends the fused data to end user.

In the first slot of round provide clusters and Cluster Head using residual energy .After data transfer to the initial energy assigned for each node. The completion of first round starts the CH announcement information passed to Cluster members and this is the step provides the Cluster Head Selection in wireless sensor networks. Time Division Multiple Access assigns different time slots to transmit data to avoid data collision. The cluster head selection in wireless sensor network process then continues for the rest of the rounds till all the nodes in the network exhaust all its energy.

In every node has assigned with time slot that starts the data transmission to Cluster Head CHs. The transmission node remains active position in each cluster and other nodes are turn off in the cluster to save the energy. Once the data transmission has finished from nodes to cluster heads immediately the CH receives and then CHs forwards the data to the sink. The whole process will help you Cluster Head Selection in wireless sensor networks
